Lovely morning. We learn when we really want to learn, and where we are at that moment is our true school. In other words, it would be very unnatural to fix the timing and place of learning uniformly for all people. But at the same time, it is important to remember that no one should be excluded from education. That s, the right of everyone to have equal access to education in Japan is made possible by the efforts of so many people who have lived in the past, and is a sign that Japan is a peaceful country. The fact that we are now able to learn in this way is something for which we can never be fully grateful. In this way, while we receive a variety of education at school, we also need to feel the importance of learning something, the beauty of being absorbed in something, and the joy of exploring something deeply.
I have many students who come to my lessons as adults to prepare for TOEIC or other qualifications. I always see how they start out with the feeling that they are just here to get a score, but as they continue to take lessons, they find joy in learning and their scores improve at the same time. It never ceases to amaze me how much a person’s attitude can change depending on how they look at things.I also feel that there is more than one way to go when you are trying to reach a goal. I also feel that it is never too late to learn something. I always want to be one of the guideposts to help people find the path that is right for them.
When I was a student, I loved solving mathematical problems because I learned that although there is only one answer, there are many different ways to solve it.My homeroom teacher at primary school was just like that, when I solved a maths problem in a different way to the way I had learnt at school, she said to me “I taught you to solve it this way in this lesson, but you found a different way to solve it. I think your way is very interesting too. She praised me very much. I think it gave me a lot of confidence and I think it helped me to think a lot. After that, I tried to think of other ways to solve the problems, and then I realized that the way I learned from my teacher was faster and easier to understand, and I felt that what I learned at school was wonderful. In this way, I feel that I have acquired a habit of thinking about one thing in a variety of ways, and I feel that I have been taught the joy of thinking, and I am still full of gratitude to that teacher.
Now that I am in a position to teach, I always think that I need to keep studying, and I hope that I can tell everyone how fun it is to learn, and how wonderful it is to be able to express yourself in English.Above all, I feel that it is important to develop the ability to look at things from different perspectives, and I would like to continue learning with my students. I would like to continue to learn together with them. I would also like to remember to support those who are trying hard to learn something, whether they are children or adults. The joy of learning is a wonderful treasure that cannot be replaced by anything else.
