We all have emotions. Maybe there are emotions hidden inside of us that we don’t know about yet. So how do these emotions arise? Are they triggered by what is happening around you? I know that we get frustrated because other people don’t do what we want, we get anxious because our environment is not as good as other people’s, we get angry when people say things we don’t like, and we get sad when people say things we don’t mean.

When I write this, it seems as if all of these emotions are caused by the words of those around us and our environment, but in reality, these emotions may be something that we choose to feel. Just as we are responsible for our own actions, we are responsible for our own emotions. If you think that positive emotions such as happiness and excitement are your own choice, but negative emotions such as sadness, fear, frustration, and anger are caused by others, you are putting the blame on others. Of course, it is very tempting to do so, but the truth is that you are the one who is choosing to feel sadness, fear, frustration, and anger. And if you blame yourself for having these negative emotions, or if you lower your self-esteem, you will be stuck in a place where you need to move forward, and you may not even be able to move on to the next action.

Although we are responsible for our own emotions, we can’t really evaluate every emotion as good or bad. This is because all of those feelings are the richness of what our heart has to offer. If such feelings come to you, don’t hurt other people’s feelings by hurling them at them, and don’t keep blaming yourself. Accept the feelings that come up inside of you. The richness of your emotions will always be the driving force that moves you and helps you to move forward. It is very dire necessity to have a good balance of negative and positive emotions and to feel them in a balanced way. Otherwise, the mind will get tired. The first step is to accept the negative emotions and then slowly let them go. It’s like going to the beach and taking a handful of sand from the beach and letting it slip between your fingers. Then we can live each day with a heart full of gratitude, and live in a way that pleases our own heart.
