Lovely morning. There are times when we are so focused on achieving one thing that we don’t even look aside. That concentration can be quite amazing. However, if you feel that you are not getting the results you want, or that you are not getting as close to your goal as you would like, it is important to take a breather.
For example, if you’re a woman, you might want to look in the mirror to fix your make-up, or if you’re a man, you might want to look at yourself in the bathroom. When you’re working hard at something, you can’t actually see what’s going on around you, and at the same time, you often can’t see yourself. Indeed, if you think about it, we can’t see ourselves objectively except by looking at ourselves in the mirror, or at our reflection in the window. If anything, the people around us know what we look like better than we do.
Looking at yourself objectively is like looking into your own mind, which can be painful at times when you are not feeling calm. But if you can see the beautiful sparkle in your own eyes when you look in the mirror, then it’s okay. We can move on, and even if we just pretend to smile a little in the mirror with the corners of our mouths up, or look for a different angle to make ourselves look beautiful or cool, our minds are motivated to move on from the situation we are in.
If you are swimming or rowing in the ocean and you don’t know where you are going, you may not be able to move forward at all, or you may even be going in the wrong direction. When this happens, look at the stars above your head to see where you are, read the wind and think about which way you should swim and how you should move your oars. It is important to know where you are and what you are doing objectively.
If you can see yourself as you really are, you can then work out how to change direction and improve what you are doing. This will give you more peace of mind and help you to find ways to make the most of your potential.
If you feel like you’re spinning your wheels a bit, take a moment to look in the mirror, look at yourself objectively, have a nice cup of tea and calm yourself down before you go any further. This will help you to realise your current problems, learn from them and work towards your goals. Taking just a few minutes out of your day to reflect on yourself can change your future for the better.
