The world as we see it depends on…

Lovely morning. The world as we see it depends on how we see it. And it is sometimes difficult to immediately judge whether what we see is real or not. We are born with the ability to perceive things, but whether we are able to perceive everything as an adult is a question of course.

However, there are many people who do not realise this, and they criticise things or say things about other people’s behaviour based only on what they see on the surface. For example, a person who is always smiling and cheerful may have a deep inner pain, or a person who always does everything with ease may actually be a person who works very hard when others are not looking.

If you judge a person by your own standards and tell someone else about it, they may think it is true, even though you have imagined it. And the person who is told the story may believe it, distorting the facts. What we don’t see is what’s important, and it’s not always good for things or people to have everything out in the open, so it’s often the things that we don’t show that make us who we are and what we do.

It is said that our brain is only functioning at a few percent of its capacity, and even what we see can be missed because of where we are focused, so we don’t really know if we are perceiving things correctly. So to cover this, we may need compassion and love to imagine what we can’t see. It is impossible for any one of us to know everything that exists in the world, so it can be really dangerous at times to make assumptions based on our own knowledge and experience. Knowing this can change the way you look at things, it can make you more considerate of others, it can make you see things in a different way, it can make you discover something new and better, it can change your relationships for the better. I feel that knowing that we don’t know everything is a very precious part of our lives.
