Lovely morning.Many of us have felt that we have studied hard, practised hard, but when we need to exert our most energy, we have not been able to give our maximum. At such times, it may help to remember a few things about relaxing your brain. For example, when you listen to a great pianist, you can see him or her playing and he or she seems to be in a state of being in the music. I don’t think you can feel that they are tense, that their body is tense or that their face is stiff. They would appear to be genuinely enjoying the music and spinning out the notes on the sheet music into shimmering sounds. They would seem to be in a so-called flow state, a mental state in activity characterised by a sense of total concentration and energetic immersion in what the human being is doing at the time, such that they are totally absorbed and the process is successful in its vigour.

It can also be said that the brain performs best when it is kept in this relaxed state. If you understand this, you will be able to exert great power when you really need to exert it. What you need to do to achieve this is, of course, to work hard every day towards your goals. But whether you do it with a positive mindset, thinking of it as a struggle or as something you enjoy, it will make a big difference to your work efficiency. And of course, it will also make a difference in terms of your brain becoming more relaxed.

It is a good idea to incorporate an element of play into what you are doing, to enjoy what you are doing and to feel the pleasure of knowing something you don’t know. Once what you are trying to learn in this way becomes yours, the time will come when you will be able to do it without having to think about this or that.

The moment when you let go of your thoughts, whatever it is that you are aiming for, you will surely feel it if you are happily working towards that goal every day. This way, you will not feel unnecessary tension, and you will be able to enjoy yourself and show your strength in the performance. We should try to relax our minds and have fun while working on various things so that we can show what we have learned through our efforts in the event we have to present.
