Lovely morning. For almost two years now we have been wearing masks whenever we go out. It makes it difficult for others to see our mouths and from a distance it is hard to tell if we are smiling or not. However, when I am practising for an English test interview at work, I really feel that a person’s facial expression can be conveyed to others even when wearing a mask. Whether you’re smiling, nervous, confident, or confident but then suddenly lose confidence because the next question is too difficult, I feel that even with a mask on you can still convey your heart to the other person.
So even if you think that you can hide your emotions from the other person because you are wearing a mask, I think you need to pay attention to your facial expressions. It’s easy to see what you look like when you’re feeling happy, sad or surprised, but sometimes you don’t know what you look like when you’re unconscious. If you unconsciously show a bored or uncomfortable expression on your face, it can give a negative impression to the people around you and make a bad impression. Therefore, it is always a good idea to keep your mind in order and to practice smiling in a mask to strengthen your facial muscles.
It is also important to be able to overlook even the slightest change in a person’s facial expression, especially when communicating with them. For example, when I am giving a lesson, I pay attention to the slightest change in the student’s expression. I try to keep an eye out for the slightest expression of boredom, disinterest or confusion on the student’s face, so that I can slow down the lesson or change the direction of the lesson to make it more interesting.
This is because I would like to take in the unspoken messages of the students and make the lesson fun from there. I even feel like I’m teaching for the beautiful expressions on their faces, when they are thinking, when they have an idea, when they understand, when they are laughing, and I’m grateful for all the energy they give me.
There is a huge difference between meeting someone online and meeting them face to face, even through a mask. The energy that you feel there is really strong, and I really feel that it is important for people to live in direct contact with other people. Let’s have a wonderful day with a smile on our faces, knowing that even through the mask, your emotions can be seen in your beautiful eyes and your face can be seen through the mask.
