During the course of a day, …

Lovely mornin. During the course of a day, we have a wide range of emotions. However, if good things and bad things happen in the same day, at the end of the day we are more likely to think of the bad things, the unpleasant things and the frustrating things than the good things. It seems to me that negative emotions have more power than positive ones.

Perhaps this is because it is an instinct that we have developed over the tens of thousands of years that we have been on this planet, in order to protect ourselves from danger. Therefore, unless we consciously force ourselves to think of the good things, we are likely to be drawn into negative emotions.

Of course, if you keep these negative emotions bottled up, they may explode inside you at some point, so it’s important not to deny your feelings and to speak them out loud to yourself. However, it is important not to dwell on the negative emotions for too long, but to focus on the positive after you have let them out, so that you can live your life to the full and feel good about yourself.

Remember to be grateful for what you have each day, no matter how small it is, and say something about it. For example, you woke up 10 minutes earlier today, you smiled and said hello to someone you met, you watched an interesting drama, the sky was beautiful, you found a good bakery. We try to remember to say “thank you” as we appreciate the blessings of nature. Words have a magical power. If we say pleasant and positive words over and over again, our brain will recognise them and our heart will follow suit. A little effort can make all the difference to your day.
