Lovely morning.Alone on a boat in the middle of the ocean, we look to the sun, the moon and the stars for guidance. In our own lives, it is our hopes and dreams. And what we need to do to make our dreams come true is undoubtedly a lot of learning, persistence and hard work.
The joy of learning comes when we start to aim for the dream we really want to achieve. And as we learn more and more to achieve our dreams, we generally have more and more things to do and more options. Of course it’s fun to explore new options, but if you really want to make your dreams come true, you need to dig deeper into what you need to do to achieve them. We can only do one thing at a time, and when our energy is scattered, we end up doing all of them half-heartedly. When you delve deeper into one thing, there is a moment when everything that has been right in front of you suddenly seems different, almost new. It’s like memorising a word book over and over again, and then watching a film or drama and realising that the words and phrases you’re learning are actually interspersed throughout.
And the truth is, if you can dig deep into one thing, then you can actually learn from the same level when you introduce something else. And if you can learn to dig deep, then you can learn to see the same thing every day in a whole new way. And there is no end to this either. The more you learn, the deeper you go, and there is no end to what you can explore.
Our choices are always open to us, and we can always choose to expand our power.
We look up to a big tree with admiration and respect, but when we ourselves are rooted in the ground, storing water and nutrients, and producing many beautiful flowers and fruits, we may become someone’s goal, a gentle shade from the strong sun, a flower that heals someone’s heart, a fruit that enriches someone’s soul.
